行政院長毛治國今天（11）在行政院會聽取衛生福利部「中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒感染症(MERS-CoV)疫情」報告後表示，MERS在南韓感染病例還是持續增加，在短時間內南韓已經成為全球第二大感染國，我國應該秉持「料敵從寬、禦敵從嚴」的態度，持續加強戒備。

毛院長責請衛生福利部嚴密監控掌握南韓及國際疫情發展，做好各項防範準備，加強邊境檢疫，防堵病毒入侵我國，並持續強化醫療防疫體系的整備及醫護人員的警覺，請各相關部會積極配合；針對曾經前往南韓或中東地區，返國後有疑似病症的人員，就醫時應該明確告知旅遊史，但也要避免過度恐慌，一旦有不實疫情謠言，應該儘速澄清，並嚴加追查造謠者，請通訊傳播委員會及警政單位全力協助。
