台灣網球一姐謝淑薇第10度征戰溫布頓女雙比賽，搭檔換成義大利女將潘妮塔，第2輪面對俄羅斯組合葛絲派萊恩╱潘諾娃，儘管對手企圖以快節奏強力網球來爭勝，但各自拿下過大滿貫冠軍的謝潘配穩扎穩打，僅花67分鐘就以6比3、6比4橫掃對手，晉級16強。
謝淑薇在2013年與中國大陸女將彭帥搭檔，拿下個人生涯首座大滿貫冠軍，隔年再打下法網冠軍，但兩人打完年終賽後分手，謝淑薇曾短暫與印度女將米爾莎合作，但今年澳網只打到第2輪，又決定更換搭檔，小薇隨後找到曾在2011年澳網奪冠的33歲義大利老將潘妮塔。
謝╱潘都有大賽奪冠經驗，轉戰溫網充滿期待，謝淑薇儘管賽前膝蓋不適，但經過防護員調整，無礙網前截擊與刁鑽切球威力，儘管兩人昨役沒有愛司進帳，但一發進球率與得分率都超過7成，讓對手難有取勝縫隙。
謝淑薇連闖兩關，其他台將也奮力爭先，盧彥勳雙打與俄羅斯搭檔賈巴雪維利首輪以7比5、6比2、7比6（3）險勝澳洲與英國組合，女雙詹皓晴與比利時凡艾特薇克合作，則以直落二闖進第3輪。
